Story #1

Becoming a mom of two has been the greatest blessing of my life. My oldest has brought me so much joy, and four months ago I welcomed my beautiful baby boy into the world. Going into this pregnancy, I truly believed I was in a much more secure place than I had been eight years ago. I had a better, more established job and felt confident that if complications arose, I would have the support I needed. Unfortunately, this pregnancy was incredibly difficult. Like my last, I suffered from severe Hyperemesis Gravidarum, requiring frequent medical care and time away from work. I had hoped my employer would be able to provide financial support during that time, but because of my medical circumstances, I did not qualify for paid maternity leave. While I am incredibly thankful for my small circle of family and friends who stepped in to help however they could, our financial resources have been completely exhausted.

In addition to Hyperemesis Gravidarum, I developed severe preeclampsia and hypertension, which extended my maternity leave to six months so I could recover safely and be here for my baby. The small amount of savings I had worked so hard to build before my leave disappeared quickly as unpaid medical leave and hospital stays took their toll. Any assistance we receive would go directly toward providing food, diapers, wipes, formula and other daily essentials for my children, as well as helping cover daycare costs so I can return to work and continue providing for my family. We have struggled to consistently secure many of these basic necessities, and this support would help lift an enormous weight off our shoulders while we get back on our feet. I truly appreciate Ruby and everyone involved for including me and my babies in this opportunity. Your kindness, generosity, and compassion mean more than words can express, and I am deeply grateful for any support you are able to provide.

Story #2

After moving to a new state to find support for my 2 year old and myself, I've been doing everything I can to provide stability for us. Despite my best efforts and working multiple jobs, I've fallen behind on rent, utilities, and, most urgently, childcare payments.

Right now, I'm facing the very real possibility that my son could lose his spot in his childcare program if I can't catch up on payments soon. Without reliable childcare, I won't be able to continue working, which would make our situation even more difficult. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward keeping my son in his childcare program, which is essential for both his well-being and my ability to support us.
